Thomas O'Neil Pettway departed this life unexpectantly on October 6, 2020 at the age of 57. Thomas was born on January 29, 1963 to the late Moses and Idell Pettway.

Thomas was a graduated from Olympic High School in 1981, where he found the love of track and field. He later attended Gardner Webb University and graduated in 1985, with a Masters Degree in Mathematics.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory, Wife, Lawona Owens-Pettway of 21 years, 5 Children: Carmen Pettway, Joshua Pettway, Sydni Pettway, Jasmyn Pettway, Kyle Mitchell(Deceased), 2 Brothers: Demps Pettway, Moses Pettway(Velda), 1 Sister: Valarie Forney(Nate), 2 Nieces: Porshia Pettway, Brittany Pettway, 2 Nephews: Donte' McWaine, Zach Pettway, a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends and a loving mother-in- law Ms. Owens and a very special cousin Tim Arrington (Tonya).
