Thomas Rhodes was born August 27, 1937, in Charlotte, NC to Harmon and Carrie Robinson Rhodes. He was called home on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Atrium Health Northeast Hospital, Concord, NC.
Thomas graduated from Plato Price High School. He then served in the US Navy as a Boatswain Mate. After serving in the military, Thomas began working at King's Drugs, where he established lifelong friendships.
Thomas married the love of his life Annie Mae Black, whom he affectionately called "Mickey", on September 2, 1962.
Thomas worked as a supervisor with the U S Postal Service until his retirement.
Thomas was an active member at Northeast Seventh-Day Adventist Church, servicing on several ministries and an associate member at First Fellowship Ministries of Charlotte. He took great pride in landscaping and unselfishly devoted his time and energy into beautifying the community and the church.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted and loving wife Ann, one daughter Antonia "Denise", two sons Donald and Danny (Felicia) all of Charlotte, one sister Mattie Bell Hill of Charlotte, four grandchildren: Shameka, Ja'Nise,
Daniel and Christopher and one great-grandson Cayden, several Nieces and Nephews, a host of family and friends along with his special buddies: Oscar Bidgood, Olin Grier, Frank Herron and Ervin Reid.
