Mr. Thomas Wilkes, Jr. 76, of Charlotte, passed on January 16, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center. Thomas Sonny Wilkes, Jr., a resident of the Dixie Community went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2014. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11a.m. at Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rev. Dr. Arthur W. Canada officiating. Survivors are his wife, Mildred J. Wilkes; son, Kenneth Wilkes (Luciana) of Charlotte, three siblings, Helen Hoover (Benjamin) of Charlotte, Goldine Witherspoon of Woodbridge, Virginia and Jackie Wilkes, Jr. (Lucinda) of Charlotte; and five grandchildren.
