Obituary

Tia LaShay Hudson , 43, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center in Fort Mill, SC.

Tia LaShay Hudson began her earthly journey on October 7, 1981 to James B. Hudson,Sr. and Stephanie D. Sanders (nee Johnson) in Lawton Oklahoma.  She departed this life on September 2, 2025 after a brief illness.  Tia was a loving and devoted companion, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend.

Tia briefly lived in New Jersey with her parents prior to moving to North Carolina with her grandparents.

Tia attended Martin County public schools in North Carolina for her elementary and middle school education.  She graduated from Roanoke High School in Robersonville, NC.  During her school years she was a standout athlete involved in basketball, volleyball and track.  Always taking her education seriously, Tia was also inducted into the High School Honor Society.

After graduating from high school, Tia attended UNC-Charlotte in Charlotte, NC, Wake Tech in Raleigh, NC and NC State also in Raleigh, NC before matriculating at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC where she received a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.

Tia not only excelled in sports but was also a talented artist, a prolific poetry writer, a smooth dancer and loved going on adventurous out-of-the-box trips in order to expose her boys to new experiences.

While living in Greenville, NC, Tia connected with Koinonia Christian Center where she was baptized and became a member under the leadership of Bishop Rosie S. O'Neal.

After completing an internship in Orlando Florida, Tia began her professional career in construction management working with various companies including Balfour Beatty Construction, McGuinn Homes, Reeves Young and Metcon Inc.  At the time of her passing Tia was employed with LeChase Construction in Charlotte, NC as a Construction Superintendent. Although it was a challenge being in a male-dominated field, Tia was able to hold her own and excel beyond expectations.  Forever the entrepreneur, Tia started her own construction and renovations company called LiteBrite Construction, LLC.

Tia will be forever loved and connected to her high school sweetheart, Kemonric Little, who has been on this life journey with her since meeting in high school.  From this bond they were blessed with two sons: Amir Little and Kaden Little who were the love of her life.

Tia was predeceased in death by her maternal grandfather: James L. Johnson, her paternal grandparents: Rev. Robert L. Hudson,Sr. and Doris Hudson.

Tia leaves to cherish her memories, her parents: Stephanie Sanders (Randal) of Fayetteville, NC and James B. Hudson,Sr. (Valerie) of Chester, VA; loving partner Kemonric Little of Columbia, SC; sons Amir and Kaden Little of Columbia, SC; siblings, James A. Johnson of Greenbelt, MD, Kia L. Bowen (Orlando) of Columbia, SC, James B. Hudson, Jr. (Rochelle) of Fayetteville, NC, Jamela Hudson of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Jeremy Hudson of Egg Township, NJ; maternal grandmother, Ernestine Johnson of Charlotte, NC; aunts and uncles, Arthur Johnson of Charlotte, NC Marion Blannon-Clark of Lakewood, WA, Rev. Julia Moore (Rev. William Moore, Jr.) of Egg Township, NJ, Jackie Harrington of Wyandanch, NY, R. Lynette Hudson of Williamston, NC, Yolanda Cross of Chapel Hill, NC Robert Hudson, Jr. of Richmond, VA, Margaret McNeill (Dwayne) of Woodbridge, VA and Valentina Dugan of Atlantic City, NJ; a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Tia touched the heart of special friends: Radshika Congleton, Danyell Perry, Vaniecia Perkins, Stacy Rodgers, Shannitta Norman, Veola Ledell, Avril Brown, Lisa Horton, Collette Hagan, Jarell Hagan and her fellow riders from Front Runnerz.

Tia LaShay Hudson will be sorely missed but never forgotten.  She leaves a legacy of love and memories that will last forever.****
