Timothy graduated from West Mecklenburg High School.  Timothy was employed with several grading companies before becoming ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Farrar, Jr. and Catherine Sanders Farrar; sisters, Cynthia Davis, Rosalind Farrar; and brothers, Sammy Farrar, Herman Farrar.

Timothy is survived by two daughters, Victoria Moore (Milton) and Robin Farrar; one son, Timothy Farrar, Jr.; grandson, Timothy O. Farrar, III; siblings, Delores Wright, Sherman Farrar (Loretta), Faye Farrar, John Farrar (Gina) of Florida and Cathy Farrar; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; Doug and Missie Smith, Richard and Debbie Thomas, and Harold "Pee Wee" Boyd.
