Tisha's divine guidance to be a Social Studies teacher for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools provided the greatest fulfillment of purpose. At West Mecklenburg High School, she wanted to teach not to just lessons in the book but how to choose the proper path wherever they may go. She also touched on the lives of many students while serving as a softball coach.
In her downtime, TIsha enjoyed listening to "old school" music; playing dominos and spades; going to the movies; watching her weekly TV shows; hosting parties and gatherings; attending concerts; traveling, particularly to the beach; and just having good times with friends. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and LA Lakers fan but occasionally went to Charlotte Hornets basketball games.
Tisha transitioned to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2023. She was preceded in death by her mother, father (Alex Cook), and grandmother.
Cherishing her loving memories are Ivan and Sheila Bruce, other aunts and uncles: cousins, God-daughters, Kennae' Ciera Evans and Bria Childs; friends; coworkers; and students. Her extended family includes, but is not limited, Leslie Johnson, Petula Dunston-Gomillion, Michael Bryant, Christopher Waddell, Peter Cook, and her sister home girls-Rochelle Evans, Tracy Bates, Tasha Childs, Yvette Cunningham, Yvonne Finley, and Theresa Pope.
Tisha had a big heart-she was a giver. Among her girlfriends she was the glue that kept them together. She never met a stranger and filled the room with a warm sunshiny smile. We were blessed to know her. Tisha, Tish, Peaches....Until we meet again.
