Mr. Tom Tate, 92 of Charlotte, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on Thursday, March 18, 2021.  He was born February 14, 1929 and was the son of the late Dan Tate and the late Odessa Johnson Tate.

Tom was a member of the Second Calvary Baptist Church.  He was the first deacon for over 50 years where he served until his health declined.  He worked at Railway Supply Company of Charlotte.  Tom loved to hunt and fish.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mance Tate; and children, Josephine Jones, Fred Davis and Bobby Tate.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Rogers (Mike), Gina Black, Carol Camp; and sons, Eddie Tate (Karen), Tom A. Tate, Randy Tate (Japrena); sister, Pastor Corine Toms Pritchard (Bruce); twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
