Our hearts are deeply saddened and heavy by the untimely passing of our beloved  Tomani Marya Lewis.  Within her 42 years, she loved to travel and was the true personification of love, generosity, friendship and loyalty.  She was an angel on Earth and now she is an angel in Heaven, who will be sadly missed by so many.

On February 12, 2019 Tomani "Mani" Marya Lewis received her call from the Lord and peacefully left her earthly home to join our heavenly father.

Tomani was born to Joyce Smashum Lewis of Hollywood, South Carolina and Thomas Narveen Lewis of Monrovia, Liberia on September 18, 1976 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

She received her early childhood education in Greensboro, North Carolina and attended the Burke Academic Magnet High School in Charleston, South Carolina.  Upon graduation, she pursued higher education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where graduated with honors.

Her professional career began at Duke Energy where she worked for many years and developed lifelong friendships and a very strong work ethic, while also working part-time at Value City and Burlington Coat Factory.  Her most recent employment  was a Relationship Case Manager at AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company for the past 10 years.

Her loving memory will forever be with her parents, Joyce Smashum Lewis and Thomas Narveen Lewis; siblings, Giovannia Michele Lewis and Jason Irving Lewis (Stephanie); maternal grandfather, Carlton Smashum; paternal grandmother, Mary Y. Lewis; aunt , Blondell Glenn ( James); uncles, Earl Kenneth Smashum and Keith White.  Tomani was a loving and very devoted aunt to niece, Jade Lewis and nephews, Je'Shawn Justin, and Jaiden Lewis.

Tomani was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Dorothy Doris Butler Smashum and her uncle, Carlton Curtis Smashum.
