Mr. Tony J. Williams, 62 of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

Tony J. Williams was affectionately known as "Puggie" by family and close friends.  Tony was born on October 28, 1960 in Charlotte, NC and entered into eternal life on May 2, 2023, departing at the age of 62.

Tony accepted God at an early age where he attended Simpson Gillespie United Methodist Church.  During this time, he was involved with The Boy Scouts of America under the leadership of King Daughtry and his uncle, Tommy Williams.  Tony attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Schools where he graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1978.  He was a lover of the Oldies Music and a huge football fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a very quiet and soft-spoken person and known by his friends as "Pretty Tony" because of his sharp dressing swag.

Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Sallie E. Williams-Smith; his father, Mr. Calvin Smith; grandparents, Mr. Fred M. Williams, Sr., Mrs. Margaret J. Williams; and two uncles, Mr. Fred M. Williams, Jr. and Mr. Tommy Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his only daughter, Ms. Shameka Ellis and grandchildren, N'veya Ellis, Jeremiah Mendinghall and Kayden June of Charlotte, NC; his two brothers, Ronald Williams of Deerfield, FL and Gerald Williams; cousins, La'Tonya and Santrice Williams, Carlton Clegg, Rodrick Sellers and Aunt Edena Williams; a special friend, Mary Williamson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
