Obituary

Mr. Tony Anthony Marsh, 52 of Charlotte, left his earthly home on Friday, February 26, 2021 at his residence.  He entered this world on June 27, 1968 in Chatham County (Siler City) NC  Tony was born to the union of Obie Marsh Jr. and Joyce Almetta Dowdy Marsh.

Tony attended and graduated from Lee County High School in Sanford, NC.  He was a proud graduating member of The Class of 1987. Tony joined the United States Army on March of 1989.  He served proudly in his role as a Combat Engineer.  He was a Chaplain's Assistant while in the military.  Tony served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He retired from the US Army Honorably in November 1994 due to medical issues he obtained while enlisted.  After retiring from the army Tony continued working in the civilian sector working for G4S Security (Bank of America) and Canteen Vending in Charlotte, NC.  Tony had the mind for business and in his lifetime ran two successful businesses, K & D Vending and most recently formed Marsh Trucking and Sons (following in the footsteps of his beloved brother).

Tony is a Brother of The Star of Matthews Lodge #566 P.H.A. of Matthews, North Carolina.

Tony was proceeded in death by his loving mother, Joyce Almetta Dowdy Marsh (2002).  He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Daeshon A. Marsh, Sydney A. Marsh, Zayne A. Marsh, Toni E. Marsh and Zachary Neely of the home; his father, Obie Marsh Jr., Bear Creek, NC; his siblings, Amy Marsh, Cameron, NC, Tammy Marsh, Sanford, NC, Tambria Marsh, Siler City, NC, and a "Special" brother Sandy (Andre) Marsh (Vonda) Franklinton, NC; he leaves a godson, Christopher McClurkin of Charlotte, NC.  Tony also leaves behind his Forever Love, Regina C. Howey of the home.  Also left to mourn his passing are eight aunts: Ann Dowdy Chisholm (George), Rita Dowdy Brewington (Reginald), Josephine Neal (Bill) of Goldston, NC; Annie Marsh and Stella Marsh of Bear Creek, NC, Ernestine Farrow of Siler City, NC; Pansy Dowdy Green (Joseph) and Brenda Marsh Brooks of Sanford, NC; two uncles, Leroy Marsh and Earl Marsh of Siler City, NC; and his great uncle, Maurice Marsh (affectionately known as Uncle Buc) of Charlotte, NC.  He leaves behind three nieces, five nephews and three great nieces.  Tony's family was his world and he never missed the opportunity to celebrate any life event that would bring them all together.  Tony never met a stranger and friends always became family. He leaves friends and family from coast to coast grieving his passing.

Tony will be remembered for his huge smile, his dimples, his infectious personality, his "gift for gab", his love of the Lord, family and friends.  He always had the desire to have a good time, and to leave a smile and a warm heart wherever he went.  He was loved by all and will be missed my many near and far.
