Tracie's Life

When Tracie was a little girl, she was vibrant, energetic, and gutsy. She had an old soul and had wise words to say that would often shock adults. She was very particular about what she would wear, how her food was positioned on the plate and how her hair was done. Even as an adult Tracie was carefully coordinated from head to toe. You probably would not see her in the same outfit twice. As a teenager, Tracie was extremely independent. She had a determination and a will that could be rivaled by any adult. She believed that hard work was the key to success. While in high school she worked part-time at the National Theatre with her brother Michael and at the McDonald's down the street from her home. Tracie had a plan. She wanted to save for her own place, college and of course, her impeccable wardrobe. Tracie was not selfish. Although her parents told her it wasn't necessary, she gave money to them to help around the house.

After graduation, Tracie went to Technical Schools to learn more about Project Management and Event Planning. She also received a Nail Technician Certificate, although she chose not to pursue a career in that field. Instead, Tracie developed a love for event planning and became a highly sought-after coordinator due to her dedication and meticulous eye for detail. With hard work, Tracie was able to start her own business, Destiny Reached Thru Empowerment. Tracie never turned her back on anyone and believed in the underdog. With her company, she was instrumental in assisting women who had been incarcerated and separated from their children, turn their life around. Guilt or innocence did not matter to Tracie. She wanted to help the women she encountered lead a healthy life, make better decisions, and be reunited with their families. Tracie also served for a year as a Guardian at Litem. Tracie worked for the Mecklenburg County Detention Center as a Senior Administrator Assistant until her transition.

Tracie became a Minister at True Believer's Ministries (TBM) where her brother Michael is the Pastor. There, she served with Administration, Hospitality and the Outreach Teams. Tracie stretched out further and gave life to TBM Before and Aftercare. She created the schools curriculum, the 501 (c) for the school, employment applications and conducted the hiring and training. Once TBM's Before and Aftercare program was on its feet, the Lord instructed Tracie to move to Charlotte, NC to support and become apart of Have Life Ministries. Tracie served as an Elder and covered the following ministry teams: Congregational Care (Counseling), Hospitality, Ask Me Anything (booth) and Life Store.

Family was priority for her. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She did her best to support her family whether it was sports, plays, preaching engagements or simply spending quality time together. There was nothing she would not do for her family or those she loved.

Tracie was preceded in death by her parents Pastor Leroy White and Lady Marion White. Left to mourn Tracie's life is her fiance', Victor Ward, 2 brothers – Pastor Michael Barnes (Lady Sheila), Dr. Shomari White (Co-Pastor Jacque'), 1 sister – Pastor Nneka Collins (Elder Antjuan), 7 nieces – Mikayla, Deven, Eboni, Erin, Nala, Diamond, Tashara, 8 nephews – Daniel, Michael II, Justin Jr., Shomari Jr., Antjuan Jr., Jayden, Maximus, Anthony, 2 great nephews, special and dear friends, and a host of family and church members that will miss her dearly.
