Obituary

Mr. Trenton Everette Guy, 33, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

On October 6, 1989, the GOAT, Trenton Everette Guy, Jr. was born to Stacie L. Guy and the late, great Trenton Guy, Sr. in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He quickly became his dad's protege (affectionately known as "TJ") following in his athletic footsteps at an early age.  He began his athletic career at the young age of 5, when he played football, basketball, softball and ran track.  At an early age, he was baptized at First Baptist Church West.

He was educated by Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, becoming an alumnus of the Mighty Lions of West Charlotte Senior High School.  It was at West Charlotte that he earned his GOAT status, breaking and setting records, where he still holds the 100-meter dash outdoor, 55-meter, 200-meter and 300-meter dash indoor records.  During his career at West Charlotte, he participated in Simplot Games where he is still the only athlete to ever win back-to-back championships in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.  When he stepped on the track you definitely felt his presence, and if you didn't, you sure felt it after he won the race!  After his successful high school career as a track athlete, he went on to Clemson University where he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

After the death of his father, Trenton Guy, Sr., his love for track faded and a new love for cooking developed.  He began cooking many things from all parts of the animal.  His unique choice of cuisines and ability to use whatever he had to make a meal earned him the name the "Hood Chef."  He entertained viewers while cooking with his catchy sayings, like "WOW", "MyMyMyMyMy," "Knowwhatimtalmbout" and his unheard of "snacks" like Rocky Mountain Oysters, Soft-Shell Turtle Soup, Beef Tongue over Rice and his specialty Ramen, just to name a few.  It was his dream to open his own food truck.

On the tragic day of February 28, Trenton Guy Jr. transitioned to be with the Lord.  He is preceded in death by his father, the great Trenton Guy, Sr.; cousin, John Kempson; paternal grandmother, Bonita Payton Guy; cousin, Vincent Guy, Jr.; and uncle, Vencent Guy, Sr.  Left to cherish these fond memories are his mother, Stacie Guy; sister, Jasmine Guy; nephew, Jason Hogans; maternal grandmother, Henrietta McClain, all of Charlotte, NC; paternal grandfather, Willie Guy, Sr. of Charlotte, NC; children, Trinity Guy, Victoria Maybin, both of Charlotte, NC; Adayah Guy and Aniylah Guy, both of Cincinatti, OH; aunts, Katherine Johnson, Tessima Guy and Elaine Guy, all of Charlotte, NC; and a host of close cousins, friends, track family and frat brothers.
