Ms. Trina Irene Roberson, 60 of Charlotte, passed away on Saturday May 18, 2019 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 15, 1958 to the late Mr. Isaiah and Mrs. Mary Roberson.
At an early age, Trina joined Salem Baptist Church. Many years later, she joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she rededicated her life to Christ. She had a desire to participate and be active in Church but her health often prevented her from doing so.
Trina attended schools in Mecklenburg County and graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1976. She worked various positions during her adult life but being a truck driver was her most passionate position. As Trina's career progressed, she became owner-operator of a tractor trailer. She shared her expansive knowledge of trucking with many co-workers and was also instrumental in helping her son succeed in his career as truck driver.
She was very athletic and active in sports in her youth as well as her adult life. Trina especially liked playing horseshoes, softball and basketball. She became a true diehard Carolina Panthers fan. She was soft spoken, full of advice and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Trina was preceded in death by her father, Isaiah Roberson, Sr. and her mother, Mary Lou Roberson; brothers, Isaiah Roberson, Jr. and Ronald Avery Roberson; and brother-in-law, James "J.B." Rose.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Tekeya Roberson Jones (Rajuhon) and a son, Garry Javon Roberson, both of Charlotte; three sisters, Jeanette Rose, Michelle Roberson Eison, both of Charlotte and Cheryl Davis (Maurice) of Cumming, GA; one brother, Steven Roberson (Lorraine) of Matthews, NC; four grandchildren; her finance', Aaron McGriff of Charlotte, NC; and a host of relatives and friends.
