Trumaine D. Johnson, 43, of Gastonia, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

Trumaine was born in Fort Wainwright, Alaska to Thomas Johnson and Shirley Adams Johnson on March 27, 1983. He was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina and educated in the Mecklenburg County School System.

Trumaine built lifelong friendships and touched countless lives with his infectious smile. He departed this life on June 23, 2026, and although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the many memories he leaves behind. We will fondly remember that his favorite colors were red and black and that he could not resist a slice of homemade red velvet cake.

Trumaine is survived by his father, Thomas Johnson; his brother, Marquilius Adams; his loving sister Sherese Johnson; and his very special friend, Darnel Davis, whose friendship meant so much. He also leaves behind a multitude of extended family members, including beloved nieces and nephews, devoted aunts and uncles, favorite cousins, and other cherished relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Adams Johnson.

Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in every story we tell and every laugh we share.

Rest peacefully, Trumaine.
