Tyneta Nicole Steele, 54, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at her residence in Charlotte, NC.

Tyneta Nicole Steele was born May 18, 1971 in Charlotte, North Carolina and although her passing may have caught us of guard and seem untimely we stand on Psalm 34:18 which tells us "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit". This verse shows that God is close to those who are in pain. Tyneta entered her heavenly home on the early morning of April 19, 2026.

Tyneta Nicole Steele currently worked as a Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Bus Driver. She was employed with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools since 1998. She was a dedicated and hard worker. She would do any and every route, field trip, anything the transportation office of Chambers/Mallard Creek asked of her. She never said no when it came to her family, friends, or work.

Tyneta Nicole Steele was loved dearly by her daughters and granddaughter and many of her coworkers and students. They would see her everyday because she would never miss a day of work no matter how tired she would be.

Tyneta Nicole Steele attended Olympic High School, home of the Trojans and she received her high school diploma in the year of 1989. She became a LION by supporting eldest daughter, TaVoni , and then becoming a MAVERICK by supporting her youngest daughter, Tayla. She attended every performance and competition of the Marching West Charlotte Lions and every practice and track meet of the Charlotte Flights and Purpose Driven track teams. She was known as Mama Steele and Water Mama by many band members and athletes.

Tyneta Nicole Steele had a heart of Gold, a smile that would brighten your day, a hug that could heal wounds. She was a listening ear, a provider, a caretaker, and most of all a Mother to all not just her daughters. Her presence will definitely be missed by many for years to come.

Tyneta Nicole Steele is proceeded in death by her mother Catherine Taylor Steele, her father Vernon Alwood Steele, grandparents Grace and Herman Taylor, Aunts Grace P. Taylor and Barbara Taylor.

Left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy are her daughters TaVoni Steele (Walter), Tayla Steele (Nadia), her granddaughter Esriah Whitaker, her brother Tremain Steele (Charise),her uncle Paul Taylor (Betty), her aunts Stephanie Daniel, Kimberly Burch (Charles), Tangela Booker (Charles L.) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
