Mr. Tyrone Thompson,65 of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Tuesday, May 09, 2023 at Atrium Health University.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, Tyrone Thompson departed this life and was called to his heavenly home at the age of 65.  He was born October 3, 1957 at Flower-Fifth Avenue Hospital which is now Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center.   He was the son of the late Ola Mae Bradley and Darnell O'Neil Thompson from New York City.

Tyrone grew up in New York attending local schools such as Theodore Roosevelt High School in The Bronx.  From there, he attended college at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.  As a young man, he accepted the Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He loved all sports; basketball and football were his favorites.  He also loved politics and current events.  He worked as a security officer and bodyguard for various celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez.  He later worked as a mover.

In addition to his parents, Tyrone was preceded in death by his brother, Darnell Thompson, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rhea P. Flores-Thompson; one son, Tyrone Thompson, Jr.; two sisters, Bunkie Roscoe of New Port Richey, Florida and Veronica Wiley of The Bronx, New York; and many other relatives and dear friends.
