Valeria Harriett Ervin, 78, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

With profound love and heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Valeria Ervin, who entered eternal rest on July 14, 2026. Born on September 13, 1947, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Valeria spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and a community she loved. Valeria was a devoted woman of faith who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a faithful member of Word of Faith Church. Valeria was baptized and received the Holy Ghost on September 28th, 2013. She served the church in various capacities. Her unwavering faith, warm spirit, and dedication to her church family touched all who knew her.

She retired from Qualex, Inc., where she worked as a respected supervisor. She was known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Above all, Valeria cherished her family. She found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends. She especially treasured the special bond she shared with her beloved granddaughter, Paris.

Whether enjoying a delicious meal, working crossword puzzles, or gathering with loved ones, Valeria embraced life's simple pleasures with gratitude and joy. Those who knew Valeria knew she took pride in her appearance. Her signature short, sporty red hairstyle reflected her vibrant personality, and she never missed a salon appointment.

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, love for others, unwavering faith, and the lasting impact she made on everyone blessed to know her.

Valeria leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Cheryl Hall, Regina Martin, and Madrika Ervin Famoriyo; her son-in-law, Thompson Fagunwa Famoriyo; her brothers, Gary Ervin (Lydia Ervin), Elder Randall Ervin, and Lawson Ervin Jr. (Cheryl Ervin); her sisters, Andrea Hardison and Kimberley Ervin; her grandchildren, Javaris Ervin, Jamario Ervin, Areale Martin, Jacodie Martin, and Paris Woart; her cherished great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawson Ervin Sr. and Bernice Wiley Ervin; her daughter, Virgina Ervin; and her brother-in-law, Charles Hardison.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Valeria's faith has become sight and that she now rests peacefully in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served. Her love, kindness, strength, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
