Veleta Yvonne Grier, beloved daughter of William "Tommy" and the late Jean Elizabeth Moore was born on February 9, 1963 in Valhalla, NY at Grasslands Hospital. She entered her eternal rest on July 13, 2020 at the tender age of 57 years old. At an early age she gave her life to Christ at Calvary Baptist Church in White Plains, NY and there she sung in the Young People's Choir. Veleta was married to Charles Grier. She worked as a Bus Driver and Dispatcher at the Royal Couch Bus Lines, Advanced Transit and Genes Bus Company in Yonkers, N.Y. She was educated in the Westchester County School System, graduating in 1981 from Ardsley High School.
Veleta was a strong leader in her home and she loved caring for her family. Veleta was the loving Mother of 6 children, Jessica Lewis-Smith, Jayson Grier, Sr., Jesselle Muhammad, Jessiah Muhammad, Jenai Grier, Skylar Inniss, Charles Grier, Jr.
Velveta had an infectious smile that would grab you each time you were in her presence.
Leaving to cherish her love and memory is her Father, William "Tommy" Moore; brothers, William Darnell, NY, Michael (Amy) NY, Jeffrey (Annisa) MN; sisters, Deborah Muhammed, White Plains, NY, Treena Clark, (David), NY; 6 children, 8 grandchildren, goddaughter, Yasmin Barrett and best friend, Constance Barrett and a host of relatives and friends.
