Veronica Lee Blackmon Watkins entered her eternal rest on October 17, 2023 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was at home with her Mother, surrounded by her Family and devoted caregivers.

Veronica was born on December 18, 1948 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina to Otis Blackmon (Lancaster, South Carolina) and Lucinda Crenshaw Blackmon (Kershaw, South Carolina).

She graduated from Torrance Lytle High School in Huntersville, North Carolina and attended Johnson C. Smith University and Gaston College to pursue a nursing career. Veronica started her nursing career at Presbyterian Hospital in the 1970's and eventually retired from Carolinas Medical Center Hospital after 30+ dedicated years in nursing to help take care of her father.

Following her father's passing, Veronica started a cleaning service, Diverse Clean, which she successfully managed for over 20 years until she became ill.

Veronica leaves to cherish her memories: sister-in -law, Delores Blackmon Miller; niece, Neely Renee Johnson (Chris); nephew, Jermaine Blackmon (Anissa); and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. In heaven Veronica reunites with her Mother, Lucinda Blackmon; father, Otis Blackmon; and her two brothers, William Blackmon and Otis James "Butch" Blackmon.
