Wanda Camille Hairston, 51 of Gastonia, NC joined the Lord gracefully on Saturday, August 20, 2021, after enduring a long fought battle with Lupus. Her death marked 10 years since her mother's passing and 8 years since her father's. After being hospitalized in May 2021 due to Covid-19 complications, Wanda gave it all she had until God called his daughter home.

She is the second youngest of the late Emma Jean & Herbert "Sonny" Addison, born on February 2, 1970, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Wanda, having attended Wingate University, was college educated. She has been lifelong friends with Patricia Woodley Sanders dating back to the first grade. Through their mutual friendship, she would soon meet her husband for 23 years, Christopher L. Hairston, while out eating with Patricia on her lunch break at Duke Power. Christopher and Wanda's union produced two beautiful children: Raven Hairston (first born) and Hasan Hairston (second born).

In addition to being a wife and loving mother, Wanda was an Information Security Analyst for Bank of America for over 15 years. She was a devoted Christian woman, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had an extensive love for crafts and loved traveling whenever she was granted the health and opportunity to do so. She loved food - from tasting to cooking and trying new recipes. She was also a generous giver. If ever down to her last dollar, she would give it away as long as it meant that you would be taken care of. She never wanted to feel like a burden to anyone. Instead, she intentionally made an effort to east everyone else's life around her.

Wanda's living legacy includes her husband - Christopher L. Hairston; two children - Raven Hairston and Hasan Hairston; two grandchildren - Samauria Allen and Sir Benjamin; two sisters - Teresa Addison and Eureatha Addison; four brothers - Keith Addison (Angela), Michael Addison, Bernard Addison, and Herbert III ("Junebug"); Best friends - Patricia Woodley Sanders and Vicky Brannon; and a beautiful variety of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Today, we celebrate Wanda Camille Hairston as we honor her life. To God be the glory for allowing us to have been graced with her presence!
