Wanda Jean Maske, 76, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Wanda Jean Maske , age 76, died peacefully on October 6, 2025, at Presbyterian Medical Center, in Charlotte, NC.
She was born Wanda Jean Arnold on Monday, April 25, 1949, in Youngstown, Ohio, to parents Lonnie and Leotha Arnold, at Southside Hospital. Wanda was educated in the Youngstown School system and graduated from South High School, Class of 1967. She also attended Youngstown State University. She lived in Syracuse, N.Y. and returned to Youngstown where she worked various jobs. She worked at Delphi Packard Electric until her retirement in 2001.
Wanda joined
The Army National Guard
and did a four-year assignment with the
838th MP Company
in Austintown, OH; She was a
71 L Administrative Specialist
. She had many interests and would often refer to herself as a Jack of all trades and master of many; she enjoyed living her life. She was a member of
Victory Lutheran Church
in Youngstown, OH and attended
Mowing Glade AME Zion Church
in Charlotte, North
Carolina under the leadership of Reverend Glenn. For more than 10 years she participated in Senior meetings as well as Tuesday fellowship. Wanda enjoyed art, tennis and traveling and would go as often as she could. It was during one of her trips that she met James.
She was often known for meeting no strangers, for this James had to learn patience. Well, he learned and asked for her hand in marriage. She accepted his proposal, and on April 8, 1995, Wanda and James were married.
In 2006, after years of going back and forth, they moved to Charlotte, NC. They agreed that the weather was better in Charlotte, so this was where they would spend the rest of their lives.

is survived by the love of her life, James Maske; three stepchildren: Theresa Maske of Morrow, GA,
James (Daisy) Burton of High Point NC, Rodney (Tiffany) Maske of McDonough, GA, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, two siblings Lonnie Arnold, Jr. of Lewiston NY, Carolyn Y Arnold of Las Vegas,
Brother-in-law James Colyar of Youngstown, OH, nieces, nephews, other relatives and extended family.
She is preceded in eternal rest by her parents, her sister Jeane C. Colyar, Grandparents: Georgia Frazier, Thomas Ash, Mary C. Chambers, and Adam Arnold.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the many deeds of kindness shown during their time of sorrow.
