Ms. Wandra Elaine Garrett, 68, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at her residence.

Wandra Elaine Garrett, born on December 3, 1956, in Charlotte, NC, passed away on January 15, 2025. She was the tenth of eleven children born to O'Donald and Mabel Garrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara G. Lanier; and brothers, Willie Alvin, Hudson Lee, and Lonnie Ralph.

Wandra is survived by her loving daughter, Lavonia Renise Garrett; two cherished grandsons, Mikhail Baldwin and Keiran Garrett; and her siblings, O'Donald (Maggie) Garrett of Atlanta, GA, Sam (Margaret) Garrett of Charlotte, NC, Edwin Garrett of Phoenix, AZ, Rev. Harry A. Garrett of Dallas, TX, Thomas (Melissa) Garrett of Charlotte, NC, and Gwen Garrett of Phoenix, AZ.

Special acknowledgement for her niece, Rhonda Allgood who provided constant support for Wandra in more ways than we can count.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember her fondly.

Wandra was a force to be reckoned with. Despite the various challenges she faced, she lived her life with a level of transparency that was difficult for many to understand but also a testament to her courage.  Her openness and resilience in the face of adversity leave a legacy of strength and endurance that can be found in all those she touched, especially her daughter, Lavonia.

Wandra will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of us all. May she rest in peace.
