Mrs. Willette Mackey Morrow, 69, of Charlotte, departed her life on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in the comfort of her home. She was born on December 26, 1952 to the late Willie Lee Mackey Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Mackey.
Willette graduated high school from South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC. Willette went on to work at Carolina Foods and Eckerd Drugs that she agreed had the best hot dogs. Willette loved taking care of others; so, she worked most of her life in a domestic setting raising children where she was well known for her zucchini bread.
Willette was a strong, beautiful, dedicated, fierce, and courageous woman from a young age. She was determined to keep food on the table and make sure her sons did not fall to the streets. She not only loved and cared for her two sons, but many other children in her neighborhood and extended family. If she knew of you, you were family. Willette loved all and is still well loved.
Willette is survived by her husband Garry L. Morrow Sr.; sons Sean D. Morrow (Dawn) & Garry L. Morrow Jr. (Vanessa); granddaughters Niya Morrow, Hanna Morrow, Hailee Morrow, Kennedy Morrow and Kayden Johnson; grandsons Devonte Barrett, Curtis Rorie; sisters Sandra Miller (Andrew), Faye; brothers, Willie L. Mackey Jr. (Janice), Stanley Mackey; nieces Tracy Mackey, Tiara Mackey, Shekinah Mackey; nephews Andrew Miller, Jaye Miller. Special loved ones Betsy Bryan Pitts, Carson Pitts; extended family The Myers, The Pitts, The Walls, and Southside Homes. Special Thanks to Hospice Palliative Care Charlotte Region (Nurse Kenza Proctor (gentle soul), Yolanda Myers, and Cousin Regina Sinclair.
