Reverend William Conyers affectionately known as "Bill" was born June 25, 1943 in Suffolk, Virginia to the late Pete Conyers, Sr. and Rosa Spry Conyers.

The family moved to Manning, South Carolina where William attended the local public school and graduated from Manning Training High School in 1963. He furthered his education receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickerson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. William also earned an Associate of Science degree in Mortuary Science from State University of Farmingdale, Long Island, New York. From this he was licensed as a Funeral Director in the states of New Jersey, North Carolina, and Florida.

One of the highlights of William's many accomplishments was his tenure of having the honor of serving as the Sergeant-At-Arms for the State of New Jersey. William was a Life Member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in Bergen County, New Jersey.

In the late 1970s William joined the Free and Accepted Ancient York Rite Mason Prince Hall Origin National Compact USA and became a member of St. Paul Lodge #7 of Hackensack, New Jersey and St. John Grand Lodge, Camden, New Jersey. William became a Worship Master for St. Paul Lodge and Grand Master for St. John Grand Lodge. He was the National Grand Treasurer for the Most Worshipful National Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Ancient York Rite Mason Prince Hall Origin National Compact USA. William obtained his 33d Degree in the Masons.

He was preceded in death by his parents Pete Sr. and Rosa Conyers; three brothers George, Pete Jr. and Jeff, two sisters Josie Cooper and Cassie Calvin and two sister-in-law Hattie Conyers and Irolla Conyers.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his loving wife Mollie Conyers of Charlotte, NC, his children, Bertha "Jackie" Riley (Murphy) of Columbia, SC, William S. Conyers (Anissa Martin) of Hopatcong, NJ, Raymond Patterson Jr. of Columbia, SC, Cynthia E. Conyers of Charlotte, NC, Duwayne Webb (Paula) of Jacksonville, FL, Stephanie Conyers-Bland of Mahwah, NJ, Sonja Conyers-McDaniel (Johnny) of Hawthorne, NJ, Tennille Conyers of Bronx, NY, Nakea Reed of New Rochelle, NY, Christina Conyers-Gamble (Jeff) of Hackensack, NJ, Calvin Conyers (Shelby) of Boston, MA; Two brothers Ulysses J. Conyers (Susan), Marvin R. Conyers and one sister Virbira Conyers, all of Manning, SC, sister in law, Carrie Abraham of Marshall Creek, PA and Lynn Sibby of Charlotte NC, brothers in law Hiawatha Burwell, Michael Hargrove (Collette) and Tyrone Hargrove all of Charlotte NC, 28 grandchildren and 11 great-grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
