Mr. William M. Farris, 51, departed this life on Thursday, June 22, 2023.
Mr. William Maurice Farris, "Lil Moe", 51, was born July 30, 1971 to the late Thurston Earl Spruill and Missouri Aleane Farris. He was very much loved by his family and all whom he encountered.
William attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. He was the first black to make the baseball team at South Mecklenburg High School. He was in the ROTC and was on their Rifle Team. William attended Central Piedmont Community College where he earned a Certificate in Electrician and a Certificate in Welding.
He attended and was baptized at Gethsemane Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.E. Dewberry. He was a Junior Usher, Junior Missionary, sang on the Youth Choir and was in the Boy Scouts, among other things. He had a passion for fishing and loved wrestling around with his nephews and nieces.
William leaves to cherish fond memories a daughter, Pamela S. McDow; son-in-law, Jeremy McDow; grandchildren, Phoenix B. McDow and Parker H.S. McDow; his mother, Missouri Aleane Farris; five sisters, Hope Spruill, Tonya Spruill, Crystal Spruill, Tamiko T. Farris, Shemila Black, all of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Kelgie Wallace of Charlotte and Rashard Mills of New Jersey; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
