Mr. William Anthony Winchester, 59 of Charlotte, NC transitioned to eternal life after a short illness on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Atrium Health - Main Hospital. He was born to Isiah and Virginia Montgomery Winchester on October 7, 1961.

William received his formal education in the Mecklenburg County School System and was a 1979 graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. He was employed with Earth Grains Company, The Charlotte Housing Authority and Hickory Grove Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Silver Set Lodge #327-PHA. William was affectionately known as "Poochie" and the "coolest cat" "Chester". William will always be remembered for his beautiful infectious "Chester" smile.

William was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy R. Winchester and his niece, LaTia A. Winchester.

In addition to his parents, Isiah and Virginia, William leaves behind to cherish his fondest memories, his two daughters; Tammy R. Pharr and LaTina N. Davis both of Charlotte, NC; three brothers; Carl B. Winchester, Sr. (Kristy), Richard A. Winchester (Catherine), and Kenneth L. Winchester (Tameka) all of Charlotte, NC; three nephews; Carl B. Winchester, II, Demarcus Ingram both of Charlotte, NC; Ramone D. Hemphill of Palm Bay, FL; four nieces; Erin R. Long, of Douglasville, GA, Lundan A. Winchester, Alexandria N. Winchester, and Imani D. Pharr all of Charlotte, NC; along with a host of cousins and friends.
