Mr. Willie James Adams, 71 of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.  He was born to the late Orell and Louise Adams, on December 4, 1949, in York, South Carolina.

Willie graduated from Emmett Scott High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  He served in the United States Army.  He retired from Estes Express Lines, where he worked for 40 years.

Willie was united in holy matrimony with Carolyn Y. White on January 7, 1971 in York, South Carolina. Their union was blessed with three children.

He was known for his love for fishing, the Dallas Cowboys, and his dog Blu.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orell and Louise Adams; one son, Bryant F. Adams; his eldest brother, James O. Adams (Dorothy); and his eldest sister, Susie M. Hemphill (William).

He leaves to cherish loving memories: his beloved wife, Carolyn Y. (White) Adams of the home; one son, Dennis B. Adams (Esther "Linda" Adams); two daughters, Shenita A. DeBerry (Daniel DeBerry), and Bianca Horne; three grandchildren, Latriece Hinson, Lyniece Skinner, and Athira Mcrae; one sister, Mary Adams; two brothers, David Adams and Darnell Adams all of Charlotte, North Carolina, one aunt, Lucille Erby of Rock Hill, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
