Mr. Willie Ervin "Duke" Dunham, 77, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home. He was born the 20th of January 1939 in Charlotte, NC, to the late John and Jessie Dunham. He is rejoined in Heaven and preceded in death by his wife Vencie Barrett Dunham. Willie was a graduate and strong supporter of West Charlotte High School and North Carolina A&T State University. He retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools after 35 years as a Vocational Educator. He enjoyed his lifelong skill and occupation of tailoring, traveling, sporting events and socializing in various organizations including the Swanks Social Club.

He is survived by his daughter, April Mills (Darrell), sons, Ervin Dunham (June) and Rodney Dunham (Myaneka), sisters, Jacqueline and Annette, 9 grandchildren, 2 aunts and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. , Friday, July 29, at Greenville Memorial AME Zion Church, 6116 Monteith Drive, Charlotte, NC 28213. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to the start of the service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte, NC.
