Mrs. Willie Louise Gibson Holden was born in Huntersville, North Carolina on October 10, 1933. She was the youngest of four children from her mother, Josephine Haynes, and father, Willie H. Gibson. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Haynes; two sisters, Sadie Lee Rucker and Agnes Irene Buggs; two daughters, Diane Holden and Gloria Jean Holden; and one grandson, Antonio Haynes.

She departed this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Wilora Lake Health Center.

Willie attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Schools. She was employed by Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and the Charlotte Housing Authority.

Survivors and those left to cherish her memories include her six sons, Thomas Haynes (Judy), Johnny E. Holden (Joann), Larry D. Holden, Darryl Holden, Gary D. Holden, Terry A. Holden, and one daughter Joann H. Jones, all of Charlotte, NC; twenty-three grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
