Bishop Willie Clyde Miller, 86 of Charlotte, departed this life on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.  He was born in Lancaster, South Carolina on July 10, 1935, to the late Hattie Miller Starks and Frank Miller.  He was the second born of five children.  During his early childhood, his parents moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where he attended and graduated from Plato Price School.  He furthered his education to receive his certification in Auto Mechanics at Central Piedmont Community College.  He also attended Teamers Theology School.

He entered his spiritual life as a young adult while under the leadership of different pastors, including Bishop Clarence Minor and Overseer McAfee.  From there, he began his spiritual journey.  He became Bishop at the Apostolic Church in Creek Town.  The flock relocated to 3000 Malita Avenue in which the church was renamed New Hope Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Inc.  Bishop worked closely together with the late Pastor C.B. Connor where they led many souls to Christ.  He and Pastor Connor decided to further the gospel by opening the #1 Mission New Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Inc.  which was later renamed The Grand Temple New Hope Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Inc. on 2902 Seymour Drive.

In addition to his parents, Bishop Miller was preceded in death by his step mother, Ora Lee Miller; daughter, Diane Marshall; grandson, Byron Barber, Jr. and late wife, Betty K. Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Y. Miller; five sons, Fred Miller, William Kearns (Angela), Thomas Kearns (Bridget), Byron Barber, Sr. and Clayton Miller; four daughters, Wyleaner Springfield, Carmen Washington, Deborah Davis and Lisa Brown (Thomas); three sisters, Rosa Walker, Brenda Lee and Joyce Adams; one brother, Adam Miller (Shelia); two aunts, Mrs. Margaret McCaskill and Mrs. Lila Copeland; 26 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
