Miracle Man
Rev. Willie Bee Simpson, 68 of Sanford, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, April 06, 2021 at Genesis Siler City Center Siler City, NC. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in Mecklenburg County through the union of Robert H. Simpson and Bertha Kennedy Simpson on December 21, 1952.
He attended West Charlotte High School and Central Piedmont Community College where he received his Autobody Certificate, for his trade of many years of painting, and rebuilding cars. Willie Bee Simpson was also a "jack of all trades"; fixing roofs, cutting trees, plumbing and more. Survivor of storms, and was very strong in his faith in God. Reverend Willie Bee Simpson was licensed in ministry at Parkwood CME Church of Charlotte, N.C. under the leadership of Reverend Rayfield Medcalf. Reverend Simpson was a Christian who believed in the power of prayer!
Reverend Willie Bee loved people and was an activist, a voice who fought for the local community weekly by attending City Council meeting. Through his efforts for change he fought hard and as a result of his efforts, parks were opened for the gospel message and festivals. He also raised the public's awareness about unsafe streets, local parks, and highways. Because of his activism, the city of Charlotte allocated funds to repair the streets and local parks.
Reverend Willie Bee Simpson was the leader and organizer of the singing group, Witness of Peace, along with his brothers and friends. He was also the founder of Wee Kare Ministries, an organization that provided free festivals which fed the hungry and clothed the naked. In addition, Reverend Simpson preached the uncompromised Word of God to the lost. That was his passion. His favorite Scripture was Hebrew 12:14 King James Version, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."
In 2016 he relocated to Sanford North Carolina with his wife Valerie, to live and to continue the work of Outreach through Wee Kare Ministries, Reverend Willie Bee Simpson really did care. He fellowshipped with many churches in the Sanford area including Greater Zion Holy Temple United Holy Church of America, Incorporated, where Elder Joseph Barnes is the Pastor. Elder Barnes became Reverend Simpson's friend towards the end of Reverend Simpson's journey.
Reverend Willie Bee Simpson loved the Lord. He was also a musician, singer, drummer, organist, and bass guitarist who was a professional recording artist through ASCAP.
For 15 or more years, Reverend Willie Bee was a nursing home Pastor. He was the owner of Simpson's Ice Cream Truck and was featured in an article of the Charlotte Observer Newspaper about a local Minister's "Heaven on Wheels".
Now Apostle Willie Bee Simpson is at rest with the Lord and is no longer suffering or in pain. Apostle Simpson will be missed by many whose lives have been touched by his work for heavenly gain. Willie Bee is survived by His Wife, Valerie Miller Simpson, his siblings, Mrs. Robbie Mae Clark (Robert), Mr. James Simpson (Ruby), Sister-in-law of deceased brother Mrs. Annette Simpson (Charles), Mr. Ebert O. Simpson (Brenda); children, Willie Bernard Simpson, Mieta Braxton (Peaches), Dequandra Simpson, Tony Gleaton, and Nickolas Rolle with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other relatives in addition and friends whom Apostle Willie Bee Simpson loved.
