Mr. Willie James Wingard, Sr., 70 of Charlotte, passed away on March 9, 2020 at his residence.  He was affectionately called "Bobby" or "Mutt," son of the late Louie Wingard and Valorie Wingard-Stitt was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on May 19, 1949.

Willie was preceded in death by his brothers Richard, Robert and Jimmie Wingard.

Willie was dearly loved and his memories will surely be cherished by his devoted wife of 50 years, Roberta Wingard; his mother-in-law, Cora Mae Derr; his children, Joe Derr, Willie J. Wingard, Jr., Terrice Wingard, Sherrah Wingard-Davis (Pete), all of Charlotte, NC; sister, Ella Stitt; brothers, Theodore Stitt and David Stitt (Shirley); seven grandsons, Jacobee Garrett, Khidahry Brown, Omari Wingard, Tyshoine McAfee, Qasiim Wingard, Shamari Wingard and Jaquan Davis; one granddaughter, Ayona McAfee; one great-grandchild, Eliyana Wingard; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
