Obituary

Sister Yvonne M. Leake was born on August 1, 1939 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Charlie Furnia and Beulah Mcllwain and departed this life on August 8, 2019.

Yvonne loved her family foremost and desired for all of them to lead successful lives-no sacrifice was ever too great to make for her family.  She believed in the golden rule of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.  Her hobbies included cooking and shopping for family members.  Yvonne enjoyed card games-Bidwiz was her favorite.  She also loved playing Bingo.  She was an old school person who loved the old R&B artist like Jimmy Reese and Johnny Taylor.  Her favorite television shows included all of the old western movies.

Yvonne joined Greater Providence Baptist Church several years ago and actively participated until her health prevented her from attending church.

Yvonne shared many vacation stories about the adventures of traveling.  She especially loved visiting her grandson in Hawaii.

Yvonne had an award winning smile and humble manner that helped her fit into any group.

She is survived by twin sons, Roger V. Leake of Kaiserslautern, Germany and Ricky V. Leake of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Angela Y. Leake and step daughter, Sheree Wallace, both of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Isaiah Tadashi Antonio Higuchi Leake of Honolulu, HI, Misha and Marque Wallace of Charlotte, NC; sister, Lily Dixon and a host of friends.
